To change a mixed number into an improper fraction, you have to multiply the number in the denominator by the number in front of the fraction, then add the number in the numerator, keeping the denominator the same as it was in the beginning.

17. 3 1/3 = 10/3
18. 1 5/8 = 13/8
19. 2 3/7 = 17/7
20. 5 5/6 = 35/6
To convert a mixed number into an improper fraction multiply the whole digit (1/2) by the denominator.
Add this result to the numerator.

For example:
3 1/3
3*3=9
9+1=10
=10/3 as an improper fraction

Hope this helps!
