Five tribes were represented in the document known as the Iroquois constitution before 1722 and later they were known as the “Six Nations”. These six nations are:
1)    Mohawk 2)    Onondaga 3)    Oneida 4)    Cayuga 5)    Seneca 6)    Tuscarora

The Iroquos are also known as Haudenosaunee who are a Native American confederacy. The Origin of the word “Iroquos” is still unknown as it is stated that the word first appeared in a written form when Samuel de Champlain wrote an account of his journey to Tadoussac in about 1603 with a variant spellings of “Irocois”, there are other variant spellings for the same word.
