Respuesta :

the slope of a line is the how high it goes per units of how far to the right it goes

the easiest way is to pick 2 points, say, (1,2) and (5,3)
note: (x,y), x is left right, y is up down

so from (1,2) to (5,3), the rise is frim 2 to 3, so 1, and the run is from 1 to 5, so 4
so slope is 1/4

if we had (1,2) and (4,-2), then the rise is from 2 to -2, or a rise of -4 and the run is from 1 to 4, a run of 3, so slope would be -4/3

here's a formula
if given 2 points, (x₁,y₁) and (x₂,y₂) then the slope is [tex]\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}[/tex]
hope this helps
