Answer:

The answer to the question: How did moving the capital to Baghdad help expand the Muslim Empire, is, A: it was at the crossroads of major trade routes between Europe and Asia.

Explanation:

The city of Baghdad has a very rich history in the world. Established initially during the Babylonian era, in 1800 BCE, this city later became known as the central city of the Persian Empire, a center of academy, learning, and lots of trading between East and West. When the Muslim Empire, started in 634 CE, took control of present-day Iraq, by defeating the Persians, they did not establish Baghdad initially as the capital of the empire, until  the 8th century CE, when it was noticed that Baghdad was a vital center for commerce and also for learning and scholarship. It was not until 762 CE that the Abbasid dynasty moved the capital of the empire to Baghdad and turned it into one of the most advanced, educated and rich cities in the world. This was maintained until decadence began due to conflicts between the Muslim Sunnis and Shia. In 1258 CE, the Mongolian Empire razed the entire city of Baghdad to the ground and the golden time of Baghdad and the Muslim Empire, came to an end.
