A claim for people's dependence on technology would be the use of GMO. To protect plant form insect damage, it can be made into a transgenic plant. Transgenic plant are called genetically modified organisms (GMO) because there is a gene added or removed in the original plant to obtain a set of characteristic such as insect damage. This will help the plant survive with pests that will harm it. A counterclaim would be the effects of GMO in the long run. As organisms are modified over and over again, the mother gene of that specific organism will be lost forever because of some issues with the environment. It will produce hybrids and at the same time, may have an effect on the health of those organisms who will consume these GMO's.
