Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) has initiated a policy which:
a. Dictates safe levels of nurse staffing.
b. Denies hospitals reimbursement for specified hospital-acquired conditions.
c. Requires hospitals to pay a penalty for each hospital-acquired event that occurs.
d. Prevents Medicare and Medicaid patients from receiving care at hospitals which have poor patient safety records."
