A person who would want to have collision insurance on their auto insurance would be someone who is buying or leasing a car. This way, if they have a wreck or a stolen car, the car would be paid for or fixed with only a deductible paid. People will also want collision if their car is paid off to protect them in the case of wreck or stolen car. So, they will not be without a car and can get it fixed or get the money from the insurance for the value of the car if it is a total loss.
