He became famous for his design of San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane. He used an oval shape for the domed interior. The church was commissioned in 1634, the age of high renaissance and early baroque. It is an extremely complex building both from the outside and the inside - so much so that even today's architects are dazzled by its design and geometric shapes that hold its interior together.
