Before the stabbing incident and the prison sentence, the father had had a benevolent attitude towards the Cabuliwallah. However, now that the Cabuliwallah has suddenly returned, he is suspicious and reserved. He even feels that this could be a bad omen for his daughter's wedding day. He has never before talked to a person who tried to kill another man. But these uncomfortable feelings don't last long. Mini's father regrets them the very next instant. Then, the Cabuliwallah tells him that he had missed Mini very much, and that she reminds him of his own daughter. Mini's father's feelings about the Cabuliwallah seem to have succumbed to human suspicions, but eventually, he finds it in his heart to understand this wandering man.

The answer is C. Initially, the father saw Rahman as a bad omen; later, the father believed his visit was a blessing. And don't worry, it was the correct answer on my quiz =)
