Answer:

Brutus was a patriot because he loved Rome so much he had killed the man he loved. But he loved Caeser less than he loved Rome. Brutus perceived Caeser as a tyrant who would harm Rome. The irony is that by killing Caeser in his love for Rome, Brutus unleashed a brutal civil war as well as many unhonorable actions.

We have friends like Brutus, they are called two faced. He's a patriot because he he killed Caesar for the good of Rome and then when he lost and felt like he did all that he could do for Rome, he killed himself (he died for Rome).
