2(5/8)=(2*5)/8=10/8

10(1/8)=(10*1)/8=10/8
Yes it is. The reason for this is because whole numbers have a 1 in their denominator. So if you were to do [tex] \frac{2}{1} * \frac{5}{8} [/tex], this would give you 10/8, and if you were to do [tex] \frac{10}{1} * \frac{1}{8} [/tex], you would also get 10/8.
