Respuesta :
The Swiss sat out in both world wars. They weren't communist because they had a parliamentary government based around democracy. I'd say Austria got screwed after WW2. Their military was crushed by the allied forces. They had a war torn nation from years of fighting. I'd say option #3 is your best answer. I hope I was of some help xD
Answer:
The correct answer is B. It is true that Austria's power declined after World War II.
Explanation:
During World War II, Austria was annexed to Germany through the process known as Anschluss, and obtained province status within the Third Reich. The annexation was not militarized, but through a referendum voted by the Austrian population itself (not without pressure from the Nazi army).
This situation of dominance, added to the subsequent defeat in the war, caused Austria to lose the little strategic power it had left after World War I, when it was also defeated by the Allied side.
Austria had been a European power during the 18th and 19th centuries, through expansionist policies within the European continent itself. This process caused it to control large territories in central and eastern Europe, such as Hungary, Czech, Slovakia and the Balkans. This supremacy was severely undermined after the defeat in World War I and the Treaty of Versailles, and finally concluded after the Nazi annexation in 1938.
