She delivered it as a call to all the women of the United States of America to join here in the struggle of gaining voting rights and things like property rights. It was delivered in the Seneca Falls convention and signed by many people, including even men who were attending and were willing to help.

Elizabeth Cady delivered the Declaration of Sentiments to a Women’s rights convention.

Elizabeth wanted to show the meaning and significance of women’s movement and the potential of women. Because of that, she wrote the Declaration of Sentiments. In that, she encouraged women to appreciate the freedoms of American society and she wanted to leave a clear message of the importance of women’s movement.
