The UN (United Nations) peacekeeping mission in Cambodia (UNTAC)took over actual control of the government after a long civil war until elections could be held to choose a new government.The mission was in the period from 1992 to 1993. The goal of the mission was to restore peace and civil government in Cambodia after it was ruined by decades of civil war and the Cold War.
