In Richard Connell’s short story “The Most Dangerous Game,” does Zaroff give a fair chance to his human opponents in his hunting game?

He gives a kind of fair chance because he provides his opponent with a hunting knife, training, and reliable clothes, while all Zaroff has is a 'tiny little' hand gun. Although, once he is up against Rainsford, Zaroff begins to cheat at his own game by bringing out his bodyguard and his pack or dogs into the hunting grounds with him.

I don't think so because he doesn't really give them a choice if they want to play the game. He has equipment to use for the hunting game but the others don't. He already knows most of the island and the others don't.
