1/2x +25 =-100
I got: x=-250
What is the solution?

       - 25     - 25
   2 · ¹/₂x = -125 · 2
            x = -250

Check
        ¹/₂x + 25 = -100
¹/₂(-250) + 25 = -100
     -125 + 25 = -100
             -100 = -100
