Just like any other animal, certain adaptations has to be made in order to survive. In the case of wood frog, during winter or cold climate, its freeze tolerance play into role. The freeze tolerance of wood frog is high enough for it to still do some activities during cold season. However, if the winter significantly became warmer, then the wood frog might not able to adjust quickly since it already adjusted its system to be tolerant in low temperatures.
