When reading a play, the part that helps you create a visual image of what is happening on the stage is A. Stage directions.
These are instructions from the playwright to the actors and stage crew. They are not spoken by them and usually are in brackets within the script. The stage directions are the intentions of the author of how to interprete the action by the actors, when to enter and exit, how to move or intonate a dialogue and the behaviour of the character. For the crew it provides guidance regarding they responsability like where to put the light and if any sound or music should be added.
