1. a compound is when the atoms of different elements are chemically held to one another. a mixture is a substance that has two or more different materials in such a way that no chemical reaction occurs.
A mixture can usually be separated back into its original components, a compound can not.
Example of mixture: salt water, because you can evaporate the water and get the salt. it is not chemically held together.

Example of a compound: H2O(water) you cant seperate the hydrogen and oxygen


2. the size of the sugar particles are probably extremely small because it is dissolved

3. the ice cubes are bigger. if you want to remove the sugar, you would have to evaporate the water.
A mixture consists of two or more substances that are physically intermingled in different proportions.
