A woman climbs up stairs; does she do any work? Does any work standing in an ascending elevator?

standing in an elevator doesn't have any work. because the moving one isn't someone who is standing in the elevator , but the elevator. the one that does the force isn't someone who is standing too, but the elevator

The amount of work done in both situations is the same. When the woman walks up the stairs, she does the work to raise her Mass to the height of the top of the stairs. When she rides the elevator, the elevator does the work to raise her Mass to a higher place. That's a big part of the reason we like elevators better than stairs.
