The axis of symmetry of the graph of y = -(x+4)2 -6 is
A. x = 6
B. x = 4
C. x = -4
D. x = -6

I'm fairly sure it's D, but I'm rubbish at maths :(

Ok so u were close but the answer is actually C and here's why:
The vertex of the parabola is ( -4 , -6 ) And you can tell this since the equation is in vertex form y = a(x - h)^2 + k
Remember axis of symmetry cuts the parabola down the middle meaning it goes through the x axis. x = -4
