Answer:
The Kingdom of Aksum was an important trading nation in northeastern Africa. The kingdom grew around the 300s BC to flourish in the 1st century AD. The kingdom was an important trading partner for the Roman Empire and ancient India. The rulers of Aksum facilitated trade by embossing their own coins. Aksum established hegemony over the descending kingdom of Kush and also gained political influence over part of the Arabian Peninsula and came to rule over the region with his conquest of the Himyarite Kingdom, a southern Arab kingdom in today's Yemen.
