Mining because Mining is the main focus of economic activities in the Appalachian and Rocky Mountain regions of the United States of America. These mountain regions are rich in natural resources specifically the minerals like lead, copper, silver and gold. Therefore, the economic activities in these areas is concentrated to mining.
