The Colorado Plateau is a physiogeographic region of the intermontane plateaus, centered in the Four Corners region of the southwestern United States of America. The province covers an area of 337,000 km² within the borders of western Colorado, northwestern New Mexico and southern and eastern Utah and northern Arizona. 90% of the area is drained by the Colorado River basin and its main tributaries: the Verde, San Juan and Pequeño Colorado rivers.
The plateau is composed mainly of deserts or páramos with patched areas of forests. The Grand Canyon of the Colorado is located in the southwest corner of the Colorado Plateau.
