Atraeus is solving the quadratic equation by completing the square.

7x2 – 14x + 6 = 0

7x2 – 14x = –6

A(x2 – 2x) = –6

What is the value of A?

–14
2
7
6

Respuesta :

OK so the value of A would be 7 because as you can see from the second to third step, Atraeus factored out 7 from both terms!

Answer : 7

Explanation:

In completing method square the first we do is making the coefficient of [tex]x^{2}[/tex] as one. so in order to make the coefficient as one we divide each term by 7 in given equation [tex]7x^{2} -14x +6 =0[/tex]

Since, 7 is the coefficient of [tex]x^{2}[/tex]

Now, if we take 7 as common on left hand side of an equation [tex]7x^{2} -14x=-6[/tex]  then it becomes [tex]7(x^{2} -2x)=-6[/tex].

Now, we can compare the equation [tex]A(x^{2} -2x)=-6[/tex] with [tex]7(x^{2}-2x)[/tex]

Hence, we get the value of A=7.
