The immune system is usually regarded as a complicated collection of cells and proteins molecules that fight infection or disease in the body. The immune system reports on the basis of every germ or microbe it has ever eliminated so it can rapidly recognize and eliminate the microbe if it resurfaces in the body.

When the immune system overreacts towards harmless and normal antigens as in the case of allergies:

  • This type of immune disorder is usually called allergy.

  • Autoimmune illnesses are conditions in which the immune system attacks healthy bodily parts. Autoimmune illnesses can be frequent or infrequent. Multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, are only a few of the diseases.

  • Immunodeficiency disorder refers to the immune system's inactivity. This condition can be hereditary, develop as a result of medical therapy, or be brought on by another illness. For example, HIV/AIDS.

Thus, we can conclude that when the immune system overreacts to a normal, non-harmful antigen; the type of the immune disorder is called allergy.
