A person's breathing rate can be affected biologically if they have shortness of breathe, asthma, in some cases anxiety.
Environmental would be weather, if it is very cold their breathing rate will not be the same with moderate temperature.
Internal factor would be lungs. If a person has smoked or has any sort of lung damage or disorder this will affect whether the person has a normal breathing rate

- If the exercise is intense the breathing rate may increase because of the body's need for oxygen
- To provide this the breathing will increase.
- It may also increase if the person is suffering any kind of lung disease like asthma.

- As temperature increase or decrease there will be change in breathing pattern.
- During winters it is difficult to breathe sometimes.

- pH- if there is decrease in the pH level then the nervous system will send signal to increase the breathing.
- Other factors like conc. of carbon dioxide also affect breathing rate.
