"Cape Town - South Africa "
Cecil John Rhodes was a British businessman, colonizer and politician. A great defender of colonization, he founded the country that at his death would carry his name, Rhodesia, whose territory is currently divided between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Rhodes also used his fortune, the first in the world in his time, to achieve his dream of expanding the British empire over Africa: He used the strength of the guard of his British South African Company, founded in 1890, to colonize, with white farmers, Mashonaland, in present-day Zimbabwe. Rhodes was also essential in the construction project of the railway from Cape Town to Cairo.
