President Carter and Soviet premier Leonid Brezhnev signed an agreement known as SALT II. However, President Carter did not push the U.S. Senate to ratify the treaty. Why did President Carter not fight for SALT II?
The reason he did not fight for SALT is because he did not believe it would do any good for the world and that they might keep more weapons and we did not want to be the ones left with less fire power.
