Unconscious motives and internal conflicts are primary features in the psychology school of thought known as (A) psychoanalytic theory.
Using a psychoanalysis approach means putting a high emphasis on the mind, especially the unconscious level – although the subconscious and conscious are also important in how they relate to said level.
It was first developed by Sigmund Freud, though later it was further refined by his various contemporaries, such as Carl Jung, Erik Eriksson, Alfred Adler, and Karen Horney.
