A contractor is building a house. He first marks out three points A,B and C on the ground such that AB=5m,AC=7 m and angle BAC=112°. find the length of BC.

For this, you will need to use the Law of Cosines. You should plug it in as show :

Square root of((5^2+7^2-2(5)(7)cos(112)))
You will take that answer, and square it. Once plugged into a calculator, the answer is:

42.0821 meters
