Italy was well launched in the development of Renaissance culture by the 15th century and Greek and Roman literature were imitated. Knoweldge of Greek ans Latin literature gained ground and people such as Niccolo Machivelli used Greek and Roman examples, it was also depicted in art such as Michelangelo using classical styles in painting and sculpture.
