You start at A and then count how many spaces that same point is right or left to get to B.  That is your top number (numerator) of your answer.  The bottom number is how many spaces did you have to move up or down to get to B.

For example.  If I select the bottom left corner of A at point (-3,-4).  I want to find out how many spaces to the right and how many spaces to the left do I have to move to get to the bottom left corner of B (2,1)  I need to move 5 space to the right (5 is the top of my answer) and 5 units up to (5 is the bottom number of my answer.

I did not have to use the bottom left hand corner to A and B.  I just had to use the same point on A to move to the same point on B.  I could have started at A's bottom right corner or the top of the triangle or any point on the triangle.  As long I a counted the same number of spaces to get the same spot on B.
