These four finch species lived together on an island. Each species ate something different: large seeds, small seeds, insects, and leaves. As more people moved to the island and built houses, the available finch food changed. There were fewer seeds of any kind for the finches to eat. We would expect, over time, A) that the seed eating species would disappear. B) there would be little change in the finch species. C) that the seed eating birds would eat something else. D) all the finch species would gradually become extinct.
