Its healthy both mentally and physically, Building up your self esteem, social interaction, responsibility, commitment to practice, enjoyment of activity is mentally helpful because your are interacting with your team mates not just for them but for you. Especially being social helps because you will not be as scared of crowds, nor would you hide but confront and move on, and in the world lots of people suffer anxiety with being around others, and to be in a sport, music group, theater group, etc you must overcome the fear or it can hold you back. skill level, wellness, personal fitness goals benefits you and your team mates because you are keeping a healthy body, plus you can keep up with the others and not get left behind. All of these are a need to live a successful life if your into sports, music, theater, etc
it lets you get to talk to other people instead of just working with yourself which makes you more socially awkward
