When the United States entered in the World War II after the Pearl Harbor attack by the Japanese Empire, many Japanese Americans from the West coast were subjected to a forced relocation and also incarceration in concentration camps. This was due to the general idea in public opinion and held also by the military offices that Japanese Americans could be part of a sabotage against the US government. Many young Japanese Americans were recruited to serve in all the branches of the US military, but for the same reasons, they were forbidden to fight in the Pacific front against Japan and, therefore, could only fight in the European theater.
