Which information is not necessary to solve this story problem?

The cow on the farm eats 14 pounds of hay each day and grazes in the field for 2 hours.

How many pounds of hay does the cow eat in 6 days?

A.
the number of hours the cow grazes in the field

B.
the number of pounds of hay the cow eats each day

C.
the number of days the question is asking about

Respuesta :

the answer is A because it tells you how much it eats in a day so the amount of hours doesn't matter. Hope this helps!
I do not quiet understand this question, but I will answer it my way.

I say the answer is (b).

Explanation: If a cow eats 14 each day, but it only eats for two hours, then we would have to find out first how much a cow eats in one day. 14*2 = 28. Then we would take 28 and multiply it by 6, since the question asks: How many pounds of hay does a cow eat in 6 days? 28*6 = 168. 168 pounds would be your answer for this question.

I do not know if this is what you were asking or if it was correct. I tried though. I hope this somewhat helped!
