Lyndon B Johnson War on Poverty was a social-welfare plan that aimed to end poverty in the US. To do so, he made a large legislative reform program that was known as Great Society, this reform aimed to make society more equitable.
Federal programs were created such as the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 that provided funds for vocational training.
The program also created Social Security Amendments that created Medicare and Medicaid, expanding Social Security benefits to retirees, widows and disabled.
Also, the Elementary Secondary Education Act subsidized schools districts that had poor students.
