7/6 - (-2/9)
When multiplying a negative by a negative, you always get a positive, so our new problem looks like this :
7/6 + 2/9
Make 18 the denominator by multiplying 7/6 by 3/3 and 2/9 by 2/2.
[tex] \frac{7}{6} [/tex] + [tex] \frac{3}{3} [/tex] = [tex] \frac{21}{18} [/tex]
[tex] \frac{2}{9} [/tex] + [tex] \frac{2}{2} [/tex] = [tex] \frac{4}{18} [/tex]
NEW PROBLEM : [tex] \frac{21}{18} [/tex] + [tex] \frac{4}{18} [/tex] = [tex] \frac{25}{18} [/tex]
That simplified is : 1 [tex] \frac{7}{18} [/tex]
