This is an answer for the Jackie Robinson one.

How was Jackie Robinson's contribution to baseball significant to the game and significant in history? Jackie Robinson was the first African-American to play in Major League baseball. He signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947, and throughout his career, Robinson distinguished himself as a talented player and a vocal civil rights activist. In 1955, he helped the Dodgers win the World Series. He retired in 1957 and died in Connecticut in 1972.

Jackie Robinson was given a tough time with many other people treating him with disrespect because of his race. One of his famous quotes is," I'm not concerned with your liking or disliking me... All I ask is that you respect me as a human being." He wanted to be treated as an equal even if you were not a fan of his work. As a truly respected human, he shook off negativity and went down being one of the most famous players in history.

He was a major part of equal rights for the people. He was a role model for determination and courage, and he was a leading cause of equality in today's modern society. As he broke the color barrier in baseball, he was a voice for other African-American athletes.  In July 1949, he testified about discrimination before the House Un-American Activities Committee. Jackie Robinson was more than a baseball player and an equal rights activist. He allowed for young kids and adults to believe they can be anything no matter their race.
