One sports career that interests me is a sports manager. In order to become a sports manager, one must major in sports management in college. To do this career, it would be beneficial to have good people skills because the job entails working with a professional sports team, negotiating contracts for an athlete and serving as an agent, and serving as an executive director of an athletic association. Furthermore, a well rounded knowledge of the sport is vital to being a sports manager. One must know the field well and must keep up to date with current trends and events in the sports industry, which is fastly developing.
This career particularly interests me because of the time and commitment that goes into the sports industry, which not many people know about. A lot of the time people only know the end product, which is a particular athlete or professional sports team. However, a lot of time and a lot of people working behind the scenes is what truly makes a professional athlete/sports team. Also, this career interests me because of the management and business skills that are required to to this career well. Also, it is interesting that having good people skills is vital to this career.
