Manorialism was an organizing principle of economy in the rural territories in which economic and legal power was granted to the "Lord of the Manor".
- The Manor House: Extension of land directly controlled by the Lord of the Manor. It was used for the benefit of him and his inner circle (dependants).
- The Village: It was the extensions of land granted to the peasants in order for them to live in exchange for the output they generated form their work in the farmlands.
- The Fields and Farmlands: Land that was subjected to the Lord of the Manor's influence. It was used in order to generate goods that will serve the Manor.
