: What is the balanced net ionic equation for the reaction in acidic solution of FeCl2 and KMnO4 (Fe2+ becomes Fe3+ and MnO4 becomes Mn2+). (1 point)
your answer is:
5Fe2+ + MnO4– + 8H+ 5Fe3+ + Mn2+ + 4H2O

What happens to the color of the FeCl2 when the equivalence point is reached? (1 point)
that's a hard one to answer...
Fe+2 green color converts into Fe+3 which is yellowish at the equivalence point...
but at the end point, an excess drop of KMnO4 is added, & its pink color mixes with Fe+3 's yellow to give an orangish color
The color turns purple. is way too much KMnO4 added
The color turns green., not at the equiv point yet, still alot of Fe+2
The color turns red. ( i would rather say reddish -orange)
now if you added phosphoric acid to eleiminate the yellow color of Fe+3, ...
then your equivalence point should be colorless, and your end point with 1 excess drop of KMnO4 should be pink
