If the differences between the measures of the two smaller angles of a right triangle is 6 degrees, what is the measure, in degrees, of the smallest angle?

A right triangle has one angle equal to 90° and every triangle's angles sum to 180°.  Thus the sum of the other two angles must be equal to 90°.

We are told that we have two angles α and α+6 and since these two angles must sum to 90° we have:

α+α+6=90

2α=84

α=42°
