so this was one of the major turn in the brothers lives if the oldest brother had not become the family s protector they would have been lost or sent to a foster home. In the book if the brothers parents would have died a few years ago, Darry would not be able to become the caretaker of the family and they could have suffered way more social, mental and physical damage since darry was not old enough to become the family s protecor
