Peter is 35 years old. His son is 10 years old.

How many years ago was Peter six times older than his son?

the daughter will be 24 and the mother would be 48 because 24*2=48.

1) This is visible in last part of the question, 
When daughter = 24
& Mom = 48

Then, 24 * 2 = 48

2) Peter = 35
Son = 10

35-x = 6(10-x)
35-x = 60-6x
6x - x = 60 - 35
5x = 25
x = 25/5
x = 5

So, 5 years ago is the answer.
