Calypso is angry because she was in love, and the gods did not like goddess be in love with a human
Calypso was in love with Odysseus, and she wanted him to be her husband. She was a nymph, and she was able to keep Odysseus trapped in her island by singing to him. However, Odysseus wants to go back to his wife Penelope, and Athena asks Zeus for help. He orders Calypso to let Odysseus leave. However, Calypso is angry. She claims that she loves him, and that gods always object to goddesses having affairs with mortals. However, she eventually releases him, after having spent seven years in the island.
