To ensure genetic continuity during cellular growth and repair, DNA makes exact copies of itself through what process?
A) duplication
B) replication
C) transcription
D) translation

Respuesta :

DNA does not make copies of its self, it just sits there and enzyme does it. Anyway the answer is B I think:-)

Answer : The correct answer is -

B) Replication.

DNA replication is a mechanism of formation of two DNA molecules by using single molecule of DNA ( which is double stranded).

In this process, two strands of original DNA are first separated and act like template strand, using which enzyme DNA polymerase adds dNTPs ( deoxyribonucleoside triphosphate) in the direction 5' to 3', which is antiparallel to the direction of template strand.

By making exact copy of itself (through replication) , DNA ensures genetic continuity during cell growth and repair.

Thus, option B) is the right answer.
