Montag reveals to him that he may, yet he covertly settles never to go again. After Beatty leaves, Montag reveals to Mildred that he no longer needs to work at the fire station and demonstrates her a mystery supply of around twenty books he has been stowing away in the ventilator. In a frenzy, she tries to consume them, yet he stops her. He needs to take a gander at any rate once, and he needs her offer assistance. He scans for a purpose behind his despondency in the books, which he has obviously been taking for quite a while. Mildred is terrified of them, however, Montag is resolved to include her in his inquiry, and he requests forty-eight hours of support from her to look through the books with expectations of discovering something important that they can impart to others.
