Machiavelli's The Prince was a book on political science that Machiavelli wrote in 1513 and dedicated to Lorenzo de Medici. He wrote the book hoping to impress Lorenzo and curry enough favor for Lorenzo to offer Machiavelli a job. Ultimately, Lorenzo ignored the book. But you guys should totally check it out sometime; it's pretty neat, and I think it's at the school library.
